Alternator???

My Check Guages light came on yesterday on the drive home from work.  I noticed my voltage guage was bouncing around a lot... from about 1/16 inch below center (14) up to about 1/8 inch above center.  Got home, went up to Krogers and back, this time without any strangeness.  But this morning I noticed my clock, odometer and such were reset.

I'm thinking alternator...  Any suggestions?

Check battery connections.  Make sure they are clean.

could be a ground issue.  Give all the connections a good cleaning and then load test it at one of the auto parts stores.  They should do this for free.

Grounds have been checked, all tight.  Battery disconnected, connections cleaned and reconnected.  I'm going to take the alternator to Advance Auto when I get a chance and get it checked.
