so i inverted a shackle this past weekend, no big deal, just never had it happen.

a shackle inversion was suggested, but after reading about the pros and cons, i have decided that i want to keep the factory shackle locations.

so i am just going to weld some steel "stoppers" behind the shackle to limit there travel. this will allow the shackle to come back as far as it SHOULD withouit allowing it to flip all the way.

I don't want to change the shackles.

These tabs should limit the back travel.

saw some anit-inversion shackles, shaped like a trinangle, but they cost money.

rather fab something up.

edit: maybe i will add triangle peice of metal to existing shackle with a bolt through it, that will contact the frame stopping it from flipping. i am going to articulate the jeep and take some measurements.

I know this is a little late but this is what i made to stop bending my front waggy springs on my YJ, It would do the same for shackle inversion. Its basically a link with heims at the ends and a slip/twist joint in the middle. The heims and joint in the middle allow the spring to extend, collapse and twist but only so far.  The middle slip only allows the spring to shorten about 3/4 of a inch and with the flat springs i run its perfect and the heims allow me to fine tune it so it can flex but not bind unless the spring is about to bend.
